About Ganesha Chaturthi
Ganesha Chaturthi which is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi or Vinayagar Chaturthi or Ganesh Chauth is one of the loved festivals of India. The festival is celebrated in the honor of the Lord with the head of an elephant, Lord Ganesha.
On the day of Ganesha Chaturthi, people celebrate the powerhouse of wisdom, great fortune and prosperity in the month of Bhadrapada. The preferred timing for Ganesha Puja is the Madhyahana Kaal as Lord Ganesha has believed to have born during this time.
Fact of Madhyahna Puja as preferred timing for Puja
According to the fact of Hindu time-keeping, there is a division of five equal parts of the time between the Sunrise and the Sunset named as Pratahkala, Madhyahna, Aparahna and Sayankal. The Vedic astrology suggests performing the Ganesha puja during Madhyahna part of the day.
Note: The most preferred and the bets timing for performing puja during the day and for carrying out any important work is 11:03 to 13:30.
What is the best way to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi 2024?
Two to three months prior to the date of Ganesha Chaturthi, various clay models of Lord Ganesha are built. People choose size of this clay model as per their requirement and as per their requirement. Many people choose to get this idol seated into their homes and decorate them while other prefer worshipping Lord Ganesha gigantic idols established in various local areas for public display, along the street.
The Puja is performed for a time span of 10 days that is from Bhadrapad Shudh Chaturthi to the Ananta Chaturdashi. On the following day of the worship that is on the 11th day, the idol of Lord Ganesha is taken out for procession into the sea. People take the idol all through the streets, singing and dancing with exhilaration and the idol is then immerged into the sea or river.

According to the beginning and the end of the Ganesha Chaturthi Tithi, moon sighting is prohibited for two days in a row. Anyone who mistakenly gets to see moon on the Ganesha Chaturthi Tithi then he/she can chant the following Mantra to get rid of the Dosha.
